Whole loofah

Whole loofah, dried and flattened. Just wet it and it will regain its shape. Length of more than 30 cm.

This long, cylindrical-shaped sponge that is the loofah is in fact the result of a fruit from the Cucurbitaceae family, or the cucumber family. Once mature, the fruit is harvested, dried, peeled and then emptied to become this fibrous product so popular for bathing. Should be stored away from humidity and light.

Properties: Gentle exfoliant

Uses: Exfoliants for face and body, soaps

Usage: Cut loofah rounds to create bath or dishwashing sponges, or add them to bar soaps. To do this, moisten the loofah by placing it in water to make it soft and malleable, cut slices to the desired size, then let them dry again before using them. Add the crushed loofah directly to the product you want to exfoliate. We recommend adding a preservative natural.

Rich body scrub

Fruity Loofah Soap (100g)

• 90g of clear “melt and pour” base soap
  
• 2 g ofyellow iron oxide
  
• 2 g ofred iron oxide
  
• 3 ml ofsweet orange essence
  
• 2 ml oflemon essence
  

Melt the clear “melt and pour” soap over low heat, then pour equal parts into two measuring cups. In the first, add the red iron oxide and the orange essence, then, in the second, the yellow iron oxide and the lemon essence. In a 100g mold, place a slice of loofah. Pour the first measuring cup completely, then pour the second on top. The two will mix slightly. Leave to harden for 24 hours, unmold and voilà!
