Appearance: Clear, odorless, dermocaustic and irritant liquid

Solubility: Soluble in water

Concentration: From 1% to 5%. The more water your formula contains, the more water we suggest adding. Quantity. However, you must not exceed 5%. We suggest using less in formulas intended for facial care (more sensitive skin). Reduce the Quantity if combined with another preservative.

NEVER APPLY PURE TO THE SKIN.

Although this product is natural, it is very powerful. The preservatives manage bacteria and mold, they are often irritating in their pure state or in excessive amounts Quantitys. It is essential to respect the recommended concentrations. You must also wear gloves and glasses when handling it. Once integrated into a formula, there is no need to worry.

pH: Yay, this preservative works with any pH! If you calculate the pH of your product, it is possible that it will change with the addition of this preservative. Don't panic, the pH will return to normal after about 2 hours.

Properties: preservative, antimicrobial, humectant (unlike most preservatives, it is not drying, nor allergenic for that matter).

Usage: For all your formulas containing an aqueous phase, including emulsions (W/O and O/W), surfactant-based formulas and aqueous formulas. Add at the end of the formulation and mix well.

Note that waterless formulas do not require preservative. However, you will benefit from using an antioxidant, such asvitamin E oil. This slows down the rancidity of fats, but is not a preservative.

Shelf life: It’s quite a challenge to predict the shelf life of a product! This depends on several factors, mainly the aqueous bodies used and their proportion in the formula. On average, we expect a shelf life of two years or more for surfactant-based formulas (gels and liquid soaps), one and a half to two years for emulsions and aqueous formulas such as aqueous cosmetic serums and gels with a stable aqueous phase. 

We recommend avoiding infusions and favoring aloe gel (which already contains a preservative), distilled water and hydrosols. According to chemists, these are not stable, but we are herbalists, and we love hydrosols! These can be kept for a good year, or even longer. Which is rather stable for water. With hydrosols in an aqueous phase, an O/W emulsion can be kept, thanks to Dermasoft Pentiol Eco, for around two years. Wow!

WARNING: Keep out of reach of children. / Do not swallow or inhale and avoid contact with eyes. / Respect the recommended dosage. / Always do an allergy test on the forearm (finished product test).
