Citric acid is naturally found in citrus fruits and more particularly in lemon. It is produced by fermentation of carbohydrates of vegetable raw materials (corn, tapioca, cassava, sweet potato). Fine white crystalline powder, odorless, soluble in water. PH of 2.2 (solution to 0.1%).

Properties : Acidifying (allows you to adjust the pH of too alkaline products), stabilizes the active ingredients while maintaining the pH between 2.5 and 6.5, descaling. With high concentration, it is also moisturizing, smoothing, softening and has anti-aging properties.

Use : For security use, do not use more than 10% or under a pH of 3.5. Added as such to the products.

Applications: Creams and lotions, shampoos and shower gels, bath bombs, household products.

Recipe
Bath bombs / A dozen
  1. 452 g baking soda
  2. 226 g Marant
  3. 226 g Citric acid
  4. 57 g Cocoa butter
  5. 56 g Sweet almond oil
  6. 5 ml lavender essential oil
  7. 5 ml Ylang Ylang essential oil
  8. 10 g Rose hydrosol
First mix the dry ingredients. Melt the cocoa butter over low heat before adding it to sweet almond oil. Add the vegetable fats to the dry ingredients while mixing. Then add the essential oils and then, using the hydrosol, quietly moist everything by vaporization until it is obtained (possibility of forming a ball in its hand). Press firmly in molds and allow to dry for at least 24 hours to harden them before unmolding. Keep in a hermetically closed container or pack in a plastic film.
