Properties: Nervous calming, relaxing, digestive tonic, carminative, antispasmodic and slightly antiseptic. Appreciated for promoting relaxation, soothing nervous tensions and pleasantly scenting cosmetic preparations. Its sweet and sunny aroma is particularly appreciated when diffused.

Rich in limonene, a monoterpene which generally constitutes more than 90% of its composition, sweet orange essential oil (Citrus sinensis) is distinguished by its fresh, fruity and delicately sweet scent. Traditionally appreciated in aromatherapy for its relaxing, nervous calming and digestive tonic properties, it is particularly used to promote relaxation and ease tension. Unlike several other citrus essential oils, including bergamot and Lime - Sour lime expressed, sweet orange essential oil is generally considered non-phototoxic, making it an attractive ingredient for cosmetic preparations and massage oils, provided recommended dilutions are followed.
