The TRUSOFT 1388 ECO (or Dermosoft 1388 Eco) is a system preservative of natural origin intended to protect cosmetic preparations containing water against the proliferation of microorganisms. It combines two antimicrobial agents, sodium levulinate and sodium anisate, with glycerin and water.

It constitutes an interesting solution for the formulation of natural cosmetics, in particular creams, lotions, serums, gels and preparations based on hydrosols.

INCI : Glycerin, Aqua, Sodium Levulinate, Sodium Anisate

Origin: Germany. Sodium levulinate is obtained from levulinic acid from plant raw materials (corn), while sodium anisate is a salt of anisic acid (anised). 

Appearance: Dark yellowish and transparent liquid

Odor: Strong and characteristic (not perceived in the final formula)

Solubility: Aqueous formulation containing glycerin. You can add it to an aqueous formula or an emulsion. Is not fat-soluble.

Concentration: 2% to 4%

pH: 7.5. Works at a pH around 5.0-5.5.

Properties:

• Interesting for cosmetic formulations containing an aqueous phase.

Use: Intended for cosmetic formulations containing water, in particular emulsions, lotions and gels. Check the final pH and compatibility with other ingredients. Add at the end of the formulation.

Uses: Body creams and milks, lotions, aqueous serums, cosmetic gels, cleansing products and preparations based on hydrosols.

Shelf life: The shelf life of a preparation depends on its composition, its pH, the manufacturing conditions and its packaging. The use of TRUSOFT 1388 ECO alone does not guarantee a precise shelf life. Stability testing and a microbiological preservation effectiveness test are recommended to validate finished products. Without testing, expect preservative about one year.

WARNING: Do not swallow. Avoid contact with eyes and follow the handling precautions indicated in the safety data sheet. Keep out of reach of children. Do not exceed recommended concentrations. Antimicrobial effectiveness should be verified in the final formulation.
