Mineral pigments from the earth, inorganic and cosmetic grade. Micas are minerals from the silicate family. Latin micare means “to shine”, “to sparkle”. Alone they are colorless, but combined with oxides and titanium dioxide they take on different colors. Note that micas with names beginning with "satin" or "pearl" are basic micas whose color mentioned in the second part of the name stands out when applied to the skin.
