Latin Name : Symphytum officinalis

Parts : Roots

Country : Bulgaria

Quantity : 114g or 454g (1Lb)

Properties : The Comfrey contains Allantoin and is a powerful wound healer. It treats contusions (bruises) and injuries such as sprains (cataplasm, bath). It is suitable for the care of dry hair and strengthens the hair roots. It is useful in cases of acne to repair the skin.

Precautions :Always make sure to disinfect a wound before applying the Comfrey, because it is not antiseptic. Check that there is no displaced fracture before applying to a sprain (it “welds” the bones, but does not replace them). Externally only (cosmetics, ointments, poultices). Prohibited internally by Health Canada because it contains pyrrolyzidine alkaloids that are toxic to the liver.

Uses of vegetable powders: With few exceptions, plant powders are not soluble in water, although several molecules they contain are. For best results, it is best to extract these molecules in water, alcohol, or even oil (some molecules are fat-soluble). For more information, Les Âmes Fleurs school offers an introductory workshop and an à la carte course on the manufacture of therapeutic products.

We advise you to consult a healthcare professional before using medicinal plants, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking medication.
