THE BTMS is a cationic emulsifier and conditioning agent particularly appreciated in the manufacture of hair care products. It creates stable, rich and creamy emulsions, while facilitating detangling and providing softness, suppleness and shine to the hair.

Thanks to its affinity with the hair fiber, it helps to reduce static electricity, frizz and the sensation of rough hair. It leaves hair softer, easier to comb and pleasant to the touch, without necessarily weighing it down when correctly dosed.

INCI : Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetearyl Alcohol (BTMS-50: different composition, depending on the supplier).

Origin: Of partially vegetable origin. Behentrimonium Methosulfate is made from fatty acids from rapeseed oil, notably behenic acid, then chemically transformed. Cetearyl alcohol is of plant origin.

Properties:

• Cationic emulsifier: makes it possible to produce stable and creamy emulsions

• Conditioning agent: softens and softens the hair fiber

• Detangler: facilitates styling of dry and wet

• Antistatic: reduces static electricity and frizz

• Texture agent: thickens preparations and provides a creamy consistency

• Brings softness, suppleness and shine to hair

• Improves rinsability and feel of hair care

Use : Incorporate into the oily phase and melt hot, generally around 70 to 75°C, before carrying out emulsification. Indicative dosage: 2 to 10% depending on the concentration of the BTMS and the type of preparation. A slightly acidic pH, generally around 4 to 5.5, is preferred for hair care. Check the supplier's recommendations.

Uses: Conditioners, conditioners, hair masks, detangling creams, leave-in treatments and solid hair treatments.
