Olivem 1000 is an emulsifier obtained by combining sorbitol, cetearyl alcohol and certain essential fatty acids extracted from olive oil. 100% plant-based. White, odorless flakes soluble in fat, insoluble in water. Olivem 1000 can be used alone to create oil-in-water type emulsions (non-greasy cosmetic type creams). Leaves a silky touch, ideal for night creams.

Although Olivem 1000 does not contain a palm oil derivative, a fatty alcohol from palm oil is used by the manufacturer.
Properties: Emulsifier, thickener, softener, emollient, moisturizer, protector. This emulsifier facilitates the dispersion of powders such as zinc oxide (widely used in the manufacture of sunscreens), even at high percentages.
Uses: Oil-in-water emulsions
Usage: Melt before using. The quantities used vary depending on whether you want to obtain a cream or a lotion (from 2 to 8%). Olivem 1000 creams are easy to make and do not require a co-emulsifier. Simply melt with your fatty phase (temperature of 60 °C) before mixing with the aqueous phase for approximately 2 to 5 minutes using a blending foot. By doing so, you will introduce air into your product. Finish by mixing by hand to avoid too much air and foam in the final product. You can also mix using an electric mixer. You will obtain the final texture a few hours later. To speed up the process (get the right texture faster), you can set your pan in a bowl of cold water while you mix.
To bottle, we advise you to pour the cream while it is still hot. Note, however, that air bubbles could accumulate and reduce the volume of your cream a few hours later. You can also bottle it cold using a cake bag and tip or plastic bag with a hole in one corner.
