Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate sodium (SLMI) is a very soft surfactant from coconut. It promotes dense and creamy foam. 80%concentrated.
INCI : Sodium Lauroyl METHYL ISETHIONATE
Concentration: From 5% to 60%
It is one of the most natural and sweet biodegradable surfactants on the market. No intermediary from palm oil or heavy chemical process that comes into play for its manufacture. No sulfate, very well tolerated by the most sensitive skin. Its manufacturing process respects the environment.
In the form of large flakes, it is preferable to reduce to powder to the spice mill or mortar before using it, because it melts very slowly.
Suitable for colored hair, babies, sensitive hair and hair leathers.

To know…
For the manufacture of a liquid product with the SLMI, the recommended concentration is 5 to 9% of the formulation, depending on the co-surfactants.
It is important to use the SLMI in a formulation whose pH is between 4.5 and 8.5, ideally between 5 and 6, in order to avoid breaking the molecule of the surfactant (hydrolysis). This would cause an instability of the formulation and a strange smell ... so, if you use the Sodium Coco Sulfate (SCS), THE Glucoside decyl, THE glucoside lauryl Or the glucoside coconut as a liquid base of surfactants, you must correct the pH before incorporating the SLMI with citric acid because they have a pH greater than 10.
Here are the steps:
Choose the preservative, because some are functional according to pH. Potassium sorbate works with a pH between 2.5 and 6.5, while the Pentylen Glycol Works with all pH.
